Goldsmith artist Dorthe Kristensen came to New Zealand in 1999 and now lives in Wellington.
Dorthe left her homeland of Denmark at 27 to complete a three year degree in Fine Jewellery and Design at the Sir John Cass School of Art in London, England. She then pursued an apprenticeship in Copenhagen, Denmark, graduating as a Goldsmith in 1998.
“My jewellery relates first of all to the organic forms of nature. I combine my passion for the art and craftsmanship of goldsmithing with colour, stones and unusual shapes.“
“My Nordic minimalism quietly enhances the beauty of the materials.“
